Father’s
Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize the contribution that fathers
and father figures make to the lives of their children. This day
celebrates fatherhood and male parenting. Although it is celebrated on
a variety of dates worldwide, many countries observe this day on the
third Sunday in June. Father's Day is the day to recognize, honor and
celebrate the sacrifices and accomplishments of our fathers. Children
celebrate their fathers and father figures to show their love and
appreciation. More recently, Father's Day has been used to educate the
population as to the significant impact a father makes in the home of
young children. Father's Day was created to complement Mother's Day.
